How to use mabsoos
On charcoal or an electric burner
Light the charcoal disc
Light it until it glows all over.
Place the charcoal disc on the burner
Use tongs: the disc gets hot quickly.
Wait for a layer of ash
Once a thin layer of ash covers the disc and its smoke settles, it is ready.
Place mabsoos on the disc
A small amount: its scented oils evaporate quickly, and it may smoke more at first. Add a little whenever the scent fades.
On an electric burner: switch it on until it heats up, then place mabsoos directly on it, no charcoal needed.
Safety and storage
- Never leave a lit burner unattended.
- Keep it away from children and fabrics.

What is the difference between bakhour, mabsoos, scented oud and incense cones?
All are for scenting a room with smoke; they differ in how they are used. Bakhour, mabsoos and scented oud go on charcoal or an electric burner, and the oils in mabsoos and scented oud make their smoke denser at first. Incense cones are lit at the tip and burn on their own, with no charcoal.
